What is a Magic Town?

The Magical Towns Programme is led by Mexico’s Secretariat of Tourism, there is a wide criteria to follow in order to obtain this status. The towns must keep their natural beauty, cultural richness, traditions, folklore, historical relevance, cuisine, art crafts, religious events and architecture, all these under UNESCO supervision.

It’s not an easy task to maintain the Magic Town or Magic Village appointment, it requires a lot of work from councils and from the town’s people themselves, restaurants, hotels, and local residents must know their own history and what makes their town Magical.
